Nola Mae Partridge, 79, of Canyon, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with the Rev. Jim Brown, pastor of Monterey Baptist Church of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

Mrs. Partridge was born in Spanish Fort. She attended school at Spanish Fort until the age of 15, when she moved to Prairie Point in Montague County, where she lived for three years.

She married Walter Partridge in 1936 at Nocona. They lived at Prairie Point until 1943, when they moved to Canyon. Mr. Partridge died in 1991.

Mrs. Partridge worked for Monarch Tailor Shop from 1944 until retiring in 1968. She was the flower chairman at Calvary Baptist Church for 21 years. She taught Bible school for three years and the adult choir for 10 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon.

Survivors include a daughter, Jearlyn Ruth Simpson of Amarillo; a son, Bill R. Partridge of Edmond, Okla.; five sisters, Opal Case of Tulsa, Okla., Odessa Lindeman of Umbarger, Ossie Clary of Nocona, Ruth Brown of Amarillo and Maurine Abbott of Canyon; three brothers, the Rev. J.C. Scruggs of Liberal, Kan., Roy B. Scruggs of Austin and Bobby Wayne Scruggs of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 1717 Fourth Ave., Canyon, Texas 79015; or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1208, Canyon, Texas 79015.
