FORT SCOTT TRIBUNE OBITUARY
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 5, 1954

Margaret G. Moore

Mrs. Margaret Gillies Moore, 82, widow of the late J.B. Moore and a resident of Fort Scott for 60 years, died last night in her sleep at her home, 1008 South Main Street. She had been in failing health the past five years. Mrs. Moore was down town yesterday afternoon attending to business matters.

Mrs. Moore daughter of James and Helen Thomson Gillies was born in St. Louis, Mo July 26, 1872. When a child, she went to Kansas City and went to Kansas City and Rosedale schools.

She was married to Jesse B. Moore Feb. 23, 1896 and had lived at the present residence for 19 years. Mr. Moore died in 1931.

Surviving are the daughters Mrs. Marian A. Warren and Mildred Moore of the home and two sons, Burris B. and Harold, both of Fort Scott.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the home. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery.

The body is at the Konantz Funeral Home.

Moore Rites

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Gillies Moore, 82, were held yesterday afternoon at her home, 1008 South Main. The Rev. Roger Raldie and the Rev H.P. Basquin officiated.

Music was furnished by David Freeman soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Decker. Burial was in the Centerville cemetery near Devon with Charles M. Warren, Frank Keller, Robert Childs, Charles Elliott, Dudley Stegge, Gerald Smith, Alfred Brown, and John Classen serving as pallbearers.

The Ivy Morgan class of the First Methodist Church and post office employees attended in groups.

The Konantz Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
