George W. Oller, 78, died July 8, 2000 at Beverly Health Care, Lucas,Kansas.

He was born March 6, 1922 at Cunningham, the son of Russell Eugene and Bessie Pearl Marteney Oller. A Lucas resident since 1953, moving from Pratt, he was a grain elevator manager and custom harvester.

He belonged to Lucas United Methodist Church. Russell, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6240, Lucas, American Legion Post No. 267 and the Hays Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Lee Applegate. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, Joe, Emporia, and Eric, Birmingham, Alabama; two daughters, Regina Parsons, Hutchinson, and Rebecca Dixson, Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Gertrude Wehling, Colorado Springs and Velma Schnittker and Gladys Krug, both of Pratt; a half brother, Jerry Oller, Turon, two half sisters, Lynette Chick, Hutchinson, and Ellen Jean Hansen, Pratt; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Lundgren presiding. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at Rodrick and Milnear Funeral Home, Lucas, and from noon until service time Tuesday at the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lucas Cemetery, with Military honors by Lucas American Legion Post NO. 267.

Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral home.
