Mrs. Nolte was born December 10, 1917, on the family farm west of Seneca, the daughter of George Stallbaumer & Elizabeth Engelken Stallbaumer. She attended school at St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Benedict.
She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Valley Falls, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Nortonville. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Atchison, and the church's Altar Society. She was a homemaker, as well as an employee of Saga Food Service at Mount St. Scholastica College and Benedictine College, retiring in 1984. She also was a volunteer at the Mount St. Scholastica Helping Hand store.
She married Vincent A. Nolte, May 5, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Benedict. They lived in the Valley Falls and Nortonville communities from 1941 to 1963, when they moved to Atchison. Mr. Nolte preceded her in death on June 14, 1971.
She is survived by six daughters, Mary Kay Brumbaugh, Topeka, Joan Shaw, Kansas City, KS, Grace Brentano, Cleta Nolte, and Joyce Koch, Atchison, and Alice Brentano, Overland Park, KS; a son, Robert Nolte, Atchison; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Rita Broxterman, Seneca; and two brothers, Raymond Stallbaumer and Emmett Stallbaumer, Seneca.
Besides her husband, Vincent, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Marie Nolte, August 2, 1950; five brothers, Alfred Stallbaumer, Cyril Stallbaumer, Hubert Stallbaumer, Adrain Stallbaumer and Cletus Stallbaumer; and two sisters, Philomena "Minnie" Haug and Cora Hammes.
Mass of Christian Burial was held June 3, 2003, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Atchison. Burial in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Atchison.
