You will notice that in the listing given by the Genealogist when he made his search of the original registers at Burton in Kendal the name of William son of James and Ann Hackin, baptized or christened the 19 Dec 1801, was entered. In the listings from the Bishops Transcripts (which is a copy of the original parish register) the name is given as James son of James and Ann Hackin baptized 19 Dec. 1801. Since both entries were copied from the original parish register at Burton in Kendal, I wrote to the parish minister at Burton and asked for a certified copy of the baptismal entry of the son of James and Ann Hacking which occurred on 19 December 1801, and explained the problem of the conflict in the names of William and James. The Certified Certificate of Baptism gave the following information:
