A lifelong resident of Indianapolis until 1994, he was a retired employee of Erdel Manufacturing Company in Indianapolis.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene M. Green of Scottsburg and Brenda F. Riley of Austin; three brothers, Max Balbridge of Lawrence, James Balbridge of Chicago, Il., and Wayne Balbridge of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted on Monday, June 14, at Fountain Square Mortuary in Indianapolis.

Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Austin.

The staff of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin assisted with local arrangements.
