Roy is the son of Verl & Hildred E. (Wall) Hornaday (1912-1974) having ten children. Sons; Vernon, Richard, Roy (1932-1985), James (1936-1975), William (1948-2004), & Terry. Four daughters; Alice (Mrs. Frank) Hensley, Elaine (Mrs. Gene) Kennedy and Patty (Mrs. Raymond) Glenn, & Linda (1943-1994), all of Rushville.
Survivors incluce his wife Joann, son Randy E Hornaday, daughter Melody E Hornaday Kaster, and son Craig A Hornaday.

Roy L. Hornaday, 53, Rushville, died early today at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis after a lengthy illness.
He was a retired employee of P.R. Mallory Co. of Rushville.
Mr. Hornaday was born in Mooresville March 15, 1932, the son of Verel and Hildred Hall Hornaday.
He was married Sept. 8, 1951, to JoAnn Hersley and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Steve and Craig of Rushville, and Randy of Marietta, Ga., and two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Marcia) Roberts of Marietta, Ga., and Melody Hornaday, at home.
Four brothers, four sisters, and 11 grandchildren also survive.
Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Charles Justice officiating.
Burial will be in the East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
