Vernon Hornaday, 92, a long time Rushville resident, passed away March 21, 2022 in Rushville. He was born November 2, 1929 in Mooresville to Verel & Hildred (Wall) Hornaday. He married Patricia Leach on April 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on May 13, 1986.
Vernon worked many years as custodian at Mays School, he retired in 1994. He loved being with people, listening to music and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughters; Verna Hornaday of Rushville and Cheryl Evans of Connersville, a sister; Patty Glenn of Rushville, grandchildren; Michelle & Clint Hornaday, Jada & Blake Evans and great grandchildren; Patrick, Xander & Xoey Jane Hornaday. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Michael, a daughter; Norma, sisters; Linda Hensley & Elaine Kennedy and brothers; Jimmy, Roy, William, Terry and Richard Hornaday.
Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Tim Starkey presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Thursday from 11 AM until time of service. Burial will be in the Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
