PROVO NATIVE, MELVIN BEAN,
DIES IN SLC

Salt Lake City - Funeral services for Melvin Evans Bean, 63, who died Thursday of natural causes in a Salt Lake hospital, will be held Monday at noon, 2128 S. State Street, where friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Redwood Memorial Estates.
Mr. Bean was born March 6, 1908 in Provo to Joseph Abraham and Mary Evans Bean. He married Caroline Arko, 1936, in Morgan, Morgan County.
He was a member of the LDS Church and an employee of I and M Rug Co.
Survivors include his widow; sons, daughters, Robert Joseph Bean, Janice Abbott, Mrs. Alfred (Judith Ann) Fisher, all Salt Lake City; Mrs. Ken (Mary Elizabeth) Ward, Layton; Mrs. Dennis (Linda Kay) Hughes, Newport Beach, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; brother, sisters, Raymond Bean, Mary Moser, both Fremont, Calif.; Ava Jensen, Concord, Calif.; Ada Callahan, Mrs. Joseph K. (Leona) Davis, both Salt Lake City.
The family suggests contributions to the Utah Boys Ranch.
