Mrs. Burma B. Hendon, 84, of LaGrange died Sunday, May 2 [sic 7], 2000 at West Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel in LaGrange with the Rev. Ronald W. Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Hendon is survived by two daughters, Ann Richmond and Jane Hand, both of Valley; two sisters, Earnestine Clark of Lanett and Annie Pearl Harris of West Point; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born June 29, 1915 in Randolph County, Ala., Mrs. Hendon was retired from WestPoint Stevens. She had lived in LaGrange for the past 40 years. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a leader in the Women's Missionary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hendon, and one son, Bill Hendon. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sara Emma Otwell Bailey.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 8 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home in LaGrange.
