Honey Grove. The funeral of Joseph A. Shepherd, 85, who died Monday, was set for 3:30PM Wednesday at Cooper's Funeral Home here. The Rev. T.J. Watts, Baptist pastor, had charge, burial being made in Tigertown Cemetery. Named pallbearers were Estel Johnson, Billy Earl Smith, Neal Goodson, Charles Sitz, Andy Sitz and Kenneth Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd, born in Mississippi, October 27, 1886 [1866], died at 4PM Tuesday in the Sanitarium of Paris. His first wife, who was Miss Betty Dodd, died in 1897. He later married Miss Minnie Mackey, whose death occurred March 9, 1917. Survivors are these children: Clint Shepherd, Odessa; Woodrow Shepherd, Honey Grove; John Shepherd, Mrs. Tom Stevens and Mrs. Robert O. Hindman, Paris; Mrs. Louis Jones, Blue, Oklahoma and Mrs. Tom Goodson, Tigertown; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
