In Memoriam.


William Elmer McKinney was born near Liberty Centre, Iowa, August 12, 1876, died near Nora, Nebraska, July 30, 1896. He lacked just 18 days of being 20 years old.


Some eleven yearn ago he came, with his parents, into this neighborhood where he has since resided. He was a young man of excellent spirit, full of life and buoyancy, yet was a young man, who not only knew what right and morality was, but endeavored to live it; and when necessity demanded was ready to defend the right.


The deceased was an honored member for three year of the Nelson company of Nebraska National Guards.


A father and mother, one brother and two sisters, together with a host of relative and friends are left to mourn his early taking away.


The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. M. Porter, at his late home near Nora. That tba young man was highly respected and loved by all was evidenced by the large number of neighbors who attended the funeral services.
