Mrs. Elmira McKinney was born near Liberty Center, Warren county (sic), Iowa, September 7, 1873. She came with her parents to Nebraska in 1885 and lived near Nora until the time of her death January 19, 1915. On May 10, 1891, she was united in marriage to J.H. Williams. To this union were born seven children - six boys and one girl. Two sons have preceded her to the better land. She leaves a husband, four sons, one daughter, three step sons, one step daughter, a father, mother, one sister and one brother, besides a host of friends to mourn her death. One brother had gone on before.

At the age of sixteen she united with the M.E. Church of Nora, Nebraska, and was ever a faithful worker in the Master's vineyard. In all things she was steadfast and true - a loving wife and mother, a good neighbor, and to her will surely be said: "Well done thou good and faithful servant."

A short service was held at the home four miles south east of Nelson Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Priestly of Nora, and at 2:30 the body was brought to the Methodist church in Nelson, where Rev. J.P. Yost preached the funeral sermon. A large company of friends were present at both the house and the church to pay respect to the memory of the departed.
