OBITUARY.

Damon McKinney was born in West Virginia August 1, 1847, and died at Nora, Nebraska, July 20, 1924. In 1871 he was married to Bernice A. Dawson who died at Nora January 29, 1924. There were born to them two sons and two daughters of whom one son and one daughter preceded them to the great beyond. There remain to mourn his loss, one son Jesse D. McKinney, and one daughter, Mrs. Fannie Jones, both of Nora. He also leaves three brothers, one sister, twelve grandchildren and eight great grand children. He came to Nebraska thirty-nine years ago and since has lived near Nora. He was a veteran of the Civil war, serving the last year in Co. E 17th West Virginia Infantry. For the past eight years and six months he has been a great sufferer from incurable disease. He was bedfast and helpless, but bore his sufferings with great patience. Over fifty years ago he united with the Methodist church and seemed willing and ready for the summons to go to his God.

The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church in Nora Tuesday morning, the Rev. Kellogg, the Pastor, officiating.
