Clarence E Carr was the S/O John M. Carr and Mary Umphres.

John M. Carr (II) , born in Allen Co, Ohio in 1836. Married Mary Jane Umphres in 1864. Children born of this marriage were:
1. Silas Harmon Carr, born 1865
2. Joseph Elmer Carr, born 1866
3. Jacob Allen Carr, born 1869
4. Clarence Edgar Carr, born 1877
5. Mary Edna Carr, born 1878
6. Hugh Elbert Carr, born 5/30/1880, died 1964.

Most of this family is buried in the Van Buren Cemetery, Wentworth, Missouri.

Further information on John M. Carr I: John M. Carr, farmer at Talmage, is the son of Jacob Carr and the grandson of Jacob Carr, Sr, who was of Scotch-German descent, and a native of Pennsylvania. Jacob Carr, Sr. moved from Pennsylvania and settled in Fayette County, Ohio in 1817. He then moved to Allen County, Pennsylvania and there died. His son, Jacob Carr, Jr. was born in Pennsylvania in 1815 before the family moved to Ohio in 1817; he was reared on a farm later married Sarah Hillyard. They had 10 children : Joseph, Margaret, Harriet, Mary, _John M.( II), Thomas, Susanna, Katherine, Jane, and Jacob. After the death of Sarah, Jacob Carr, Jr. married Susan Stuckey and two children were born of this marriage. In 1858, the Jacob Carr, Jr. family moved to Daviess County, Iowa, where Jacob Carr, Jr. died.
