Louie Ulysses Harrison was the son of Edward David Harrison and Eliza Ann (Coldy) Harrison. He married Mary Louise Baker on February 16, 1899 in Cromwell, Iowa.

"Louie Ulysses Harrison passed away at his home in Cromwell, Iowa, Friday, April 6th, 1945, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 20 days, following an illness of several months.

Mr. Harrison, son of Edward and Elysa [Eliza] Harrison, was born at Galva, Henry County, Illinois, November 16th, 1872. He came with his parents to Cromwell in 1881, and lived with his
family on the farm south of town, until the spring of 1898.

He was married to [Mary] Louise Baker on February 16th, 1899, and moved to the farm four miles west of Cromwell, residing there until 1938, when they moved to their present home in
Cromwell.

To Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, six children were born, one daughter, Florence Corlille, dying [December 9, 1910] in infancy.

Surviving his passing are his wife and five children, Claude, Warren, and Glen of Cromwell; Mrs. Mima Janky, of Corning, and Mrs. Fern Davis, of Bakersfield, California; ten
grandchildre; two brothers, Frank of Santa Monica, Calif., and Bert, of San Diego, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Millie Johnston, of Victoria, Texas. Two brothers, Wilbur and Charley, preceded him in death.

Mr. Harrison united with the Congregational Church in Cromwell, in his youth, serving his church in numerous capacities, and consistently devoting his life to the work of the church. His
loss is felt not alone by his immediate family, but by the entire community, both young and old, who have known him always as a man of integrity and unfailing charity, a friend to all.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Cromwell, Sunday afternoon, April 8th, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Straube. Music was furnished by the church choir, with a
solo sung by Billy Smith, one of Mr. Harrison's life long friends. Pall bearers were Will Ours, John Rundlett, Everett James, Weede Martin, Gail Bailey and Orren Russell. Burial was made in the Cromwell Cemetery.

Those attending from a distance, besides members of the family, were Eddie Hall of Lone Tree, Iowa and Harry Harrison, of Council Bluffs, both cousins."

"Cromwell and vicinity has lost a long time resident in the passing of L.U. Harrison last Friday. In health he was active in church and community affairs and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The large attendance and many flowers at the services were proof of the high esteem in which the family is held by their many friends. Relatives and friends attended from Lone Tree, Braddyville, Mercer Center, Prescott, Kent, Creston, and surrounding communities."

Funeral services were held Sunday in Cromwell for L. U. Harrison who passed away at his home in Cromwell Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison lived in this vicinity until they moved to Cromwell several years ago. Sympathy is extended to the family."
