Josephine Roberts MaGruder, age 93 of Pleasureville, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Homestead Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Ora Lee and Rachel Elizabeth Casey Roberts, member of Pleasureville Baptist Church and Carl Adams Lodge #490, was a former teller with Deposit Bank and a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons: George Travis MaGruder Jr., and wife Nancy, Versailles; Kenneth MaGruder and wife, Kathy, Pleasureville; one sister, Ora Elizabeth Barton, Taylorsville; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Travis MaGruder Sr., four sisters: Madeline Hunt, Sadie Byers, Catherine Long and Edna Margaret Roberts; and one brother, Orva Lee "Bubby" Roberts.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Jacky Newton, Franklinton Baptist Church, officiated. Howard Lee Byers assisted. Interment was in Pleasureville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ira Lee Barton, Howard Lee Byers, Ercil Hunt, Larry Long, Gene MaGruder, Thad MaGruder, Chad Peyton, William Pollard, Paul Popplewell and Orva Lee Roberts Jr.
