LaVerne was born in Tombstone, which her children thought was neat because of the history in Tombstone. She moved to Canada when she was about 2 years old and her mother remarried. She grew up as LaVerne Armstong. The family then moved to Kelso WA where she met Walter Byrum and married on 9 Oct 1930. She had 4 children. She loved to serve her children and others in need. She was truly a friend to all. She loved being with family when ever possible.
