The funeral for Lydia R. Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove., with the Rev. Zane Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, 86, a lifelong Spring Grove area resident, died Sunday (June 22, 2008) at The Meadows in Mabel.

Lydia Rosella Opsahl was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Mabel. She attended Mabel High School. On Dec. 16, 1939, she married Allen Johnson. They farmed in rural Spring Grove.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, the church women's groups, and the Farmers Union. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing.

She is survived by a son, David (Judy) of Holmen, Wis.; four daughters, Marilyn Johnson of Rochester, Julie (Dennis) Dahl of St. Paul, Ahna Johnson of Caledonia and Sara (Michael) Cedarblade of Bangor, Wis.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Dorothy) Opsahl of Spring Grove; and two sisters, Opal (Alfred) Nelson and Florence (Richard) Johnson, both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Norman and Clinton; a sister, Sylvia; and a great-grandson, Zachery.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove, and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
