Theo Kearl was born in Laketown, Utah on May 16, 1917, the son of David Jasper and Mary Zerona Jones Kearl. He graduated from North Rich High School. He married Helen Marie Bell on June 5, 1948. He enjoyed camping, dutch-oven cooking, and traveling. He served his country in the United States Navy and saw action both in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He worked for the Rocky Mountain Produce Co. in St. George, Utah, and also for the P&M Coal Company.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served three missions: Michigan, Lansing Mission, South Carolina, Columbia Mission, Ogden Utah Temple Mission. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Cottom-Hafen Post, St. George, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Kearl, of Randolph, Utah; sons, Kerry J. Kearl, of Milford, Neb.; James Kevin Kearl, of Randolph, Utah; daughter, Karel Kae Kearl, of Whitefish, Mont.; grandchildren, Robert Richau, Evanston; Georgiana Smith, Fairbanks, Ark.; Gregory Kearl, Trinidy Bowden, Vernal, Utah; Cheyenne Martin, Northport, Ala.; JD Kearl, Fruita, Colo.; Desiree Kearl, Lincoln, Neb.; Ian Kearl, Quanaco, Va.; Kadie Ball, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Savanna Lake, Rexburg, Idaho. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and his brothers, Udell Kearl, Roy, Utah, Rosslyn Kearl, Kaysville, Utah., and David Kearl, of Bountiful, Utah.
Visitation will be held at Crandall Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. and again one hour prior to services on Saturday in Randolph at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Randolph LDS Church. Interment will follow services at the Randolph Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home of Evanston.
