She was born in Rock Springs on October 5, 1928, the daughter of Helen Freeman Bell and Wilford Ether (Johnny) Bell. She moved with her family to Randolph when she was thirteen years old and graduated from South Rich High School. She Married Theo Jones Kearl on June 5, 1948. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper, first at the family garage and later at the Ford Dealership in St. George, Utah, the Wyoming State Hospital and finally again at the family garage.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served three missions: Michigan, Lansing Mission, South Carolina, Columbia Mission and the Ogden, Utah Temple Mission. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Cottom-Hafen Post in St. George, Utah. Her participation with the VFW included local post offices, and a past president for the State of Utah VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Kerry Kearl of Milford, Neb.; Kevin of Randolph, Utah; Karel Kearl of Whitefish, Mont.; grandchildren, Robert Richau, Evanston; Georgiana Smith, Kadie Kearl, Fairbanks, Ark.; Gregory Kearl, Trinidy Bowden, Vernal, Utah; Cheyenne, Martin, Northport, Ala.; JD Kearl, Fruita, Colo.; Desiree Kearl, Lincoln, Neb.; Ian Kearl, Quanaco, Va.; Savanna Lake, Rexburg, Idaho. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and her brothers, Jack Bell, Randolph, Utah; Bryce Bell, Coalville, Utah, and Bill Bell, Mountain View.
Visitation will be held at Crandall Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m. and again one hour prior to services on Saturday in Randolph at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Randolph LDS Church. Interment will follow services at the Randolph City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home of Evanston.
Pallbearers are Robert Richau, Lance Smith, Gregory Kearl, Ian Kearl, J.D. Kearl, Jamon Bowden, Hudson Smith and Holden Smith.
