Francis was the son of Kaspar Muczynski and Pauline Burczynski. His father died when Francis was a toddler and he and his brothers were adopted by his mother's second husband, Vivian Navarre. Francis married Margaret Sorger in 1929. They had two daughters, Rosemarie and Louise. He worked for the US Postal Service in Milwaukee, Menasha and in El Paso TX. He retired to Thorp, Wisconsin.
