Thorp -- John Navarre, 80, of Route 2, Thorp, died Friday at his home following a long illness.
Services will be Monday at St. Mary's Czestochewia (Catholic) Church, Stanley, the Rev. John B. Pinion officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the Thorp Funeral Home.
Mr. Navarre was born August 18, 1903 in Chicago to Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Pauline Burzynski) Navarre. He and Cecelia Pilarski were married August 24, 1924 in Thorp.
They lived in Milwaukee until 1936, then moved to Thorp farming and residing there until his death.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Al of Milwaukee, James of St. Paul, Minnesota and Richard of Fountain City; one daughter, Mrs. LaVern (Katherine)Haas, Thorp; a brother, Frank Navarre, Thorp; a sister, Mrs. Alice Otto of Randolph; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
