Rosemarie Antoinette Navarre Patterson, 88, passed away August 8, 2019 in Canton, Ohio.
She was born Aug 24, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Francis J. Muczynski Navarre and Margaret Sorger Navarre who predeceased her.
She was a graduate of Menasha High School and Milwaukee Art School. She served in the US Air Force as a teletype operator in Wyoming, the Pentagon in Washington DC and Wiesbaden, Germany where she met and married her husband, Warren M. Patterson who predeceased her in 1989. As a military wife Rosemarie lived in Germany, Northern and Southern California, Wisconsin, Alabama, Northern and Southern Ohio and settled in Akron, Ohio in 1966. She worked for US Stoneware, Smithers Scientific Services and retired from the University of Akron as an assistant in the President’s office. Rosemarie was a member of the American Mensa Society and Intertel and volunteered for the Red Cross by helping with clerical work in Washington DC during the Hurricane Katrina crisis as well as other events. She also volunteered at Pet Guards Animal Shelter in Cuyahoga Falls. She loved animals and could not turn her back on a stray.
Rosemarie leaves daughters, Linda and Deborah of Canton and Donna of Akron; grandsons, Michael (Nicole) Sainz of Norwich, Vermont and David (Stephanie) Patterson of Stow; great granddaughter, Olivia; great grandsons, Gabriel and Collin; sister, Louise Robinson of Henderson, Nevada; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pets.
There will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
