The wounded boy received the attention of a physician soon after he was wounded and was taken to his father's residence in the northern part of the city, where he died about 9 o'clock a.m.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Robert Hodgson, pastor, conducting the services. The funeral services were attended by so many that all could not get into the building, and the funeral procession to the cemetery was the largest ever known here.
The bereaved parents, brothers, sisters and other relatives have the profound and heartfelt sympathy of our people in their deep sorrow." The Altus Weekly News (Altus, Oklahoma), January 7, 1909
