Mr. Brunson was born September 22, 1913 in Norway, South Carolina, the son of the late Charlie Eugene Brunson and Simmie Binnicker Brunson.
Mr. Brunson was a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church.
He was a retired painter with the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Shop No. 71, a master carpenter in the Charleston area and a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Mr. Brunson was survived by his wife of Ladson, S.C.; two daughters, Carrie B. Jeffcoat of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Janice B. Cardell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; six grandchildren, Robert J. Jeffcoat, III, Yvonne Downing, Denise Cardell, Stephanie Cardell, Craig Brunson and Ashley Brunson; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bevly Bragg Brunson.
