Frank Luther Sorenson, one of six children of Frank and Hanna Nelson Sorenson, was born on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska, on April 4, 1898.

Frank was baptized at Nelson as an infant and has been a member of the Nelson Methodist Church for the last 30 years. He grew up on the farm and was educated from the Eureka Grade School near Nelson. He was married to Alvena Holthaus on January 14, 1920, at Hastings, Nebraska. To this union 3 children were born.

Most of his life was lived in the Mt. Clare community where he farmed and the last 14 ears, lived in Nelson and Superior.

Frank was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Helen Joan and Carolyn Jean; his parents; three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his widow, Alvena of Superior; daughter, Mrs. Herbert Ray (Dorothy) of Hebron; sister, Mrs. Bill Shaw of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Frank passed away on November 18, 1977 in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 14 days.

Funeral services were held from the Nelson United Methodist Church, Wednesday, November 23. Rev. Clair Kess officiated. Two vocal selections were sang by Vera Kruse, accompanied by Mr. Ivan Schafer. Serving as casketbearers were Henry Malpert, Nels Nelson, Chester Shipman, Ernest Schriever, Hans Christensen and Lester Schleufer. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. The Klawitter Funeral Home in Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
