CARL SORENSON DIES MONDAY, RITES THURSDAY

Carl C. Sorenson, 79, Kalispell, died in Kalispell Monday. He was born July 16, 1893 at Nelson, Neb., a son of Franz and Hanna Sorenson. He had received his education in Nebraska.
March 6, 1918, he married Clara Jacobitz at Hastings, Neb. September 17, 1918, he entered the U.S. Army at Nelson, Neb., and served until receiving his honorable discharge Dec. 13, 1918, at Manhattan, Kansas. He returned to Nebraska and farmed until 1927 when he moved to Judith Gap. In 1934 he moved to Kalispell and farmed west of town. About 1959 he retired and moved to Evergreen.
Mr. Sorenson was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the World War I Barracks of Kalispell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, Jan. 25, 1970.
He is now survived by three daughters, one living in Kalispell, Montana; Mrs. Arnold (Norma) Johnson, Modesto, Calif.; and Mrs. Ralph (Shirley) Dichter, Gearhadt, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Sorenson, Superior, Neb.; one sister, Anna Shaw, Superior, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Sorenson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Johnson Chapel with burial in Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
