Union _ Jack Petty, 77, of Buffalo Rt. 1 died Friday at 3:15 p.m. at his home following a long illness. He was born in Cherokee Co., a son of Jim and Hannah Griffin Petty. Until his retirement 10 years ago, he was employed in textiles. He was a member of Buffalo Methodist Church and the Tribe of Redmen. Surviving are; his wife, Mrs. Mammie Trammell Petty; one daughter, Mrs. Virgie Youngblood of Buffalo; six sons, James, Robert, Clarence, Wade Petty of Buffalo, Boyd of Monarch, and William A. Petty of Rock Hill; one brother, George Petty of Easley; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at Buffalo Methodist Church by the Revs. J.G. Ferguson, Nathan Flemings and J. Henry Simpson. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hubert Babb, D.A. Ford, James Hyatt, Archie Inabinett, L.M. Sumner and Earl Fannon. S.R.
