UNION - Boyd Kelly Petty, 91, formerly of Union died Oct. 7, 2001 in the Jesse Frank Hawkins Nursing Home in Newberry.

A native of Pacolet he was the widower of Vivian Lawson Petty and son of the late Jack and Mamie Trammell Petty.

He was a member of the Buffalo United Methodist Church and was retired from Milliken Company-Monarch Plant.

Surviving are one daughter, Cathy P. Jenkins of Newberry; one son, Bobby W. Petty of Columbia; one foster-son, Samuel M. Heuertz of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Wade H. Petty and Clarence Petty, both of Buffalo and William (Bill) Petty of Greenville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Buffalo United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Philip Chandler and Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Union County Meals-on-Wheels, c/o Monte Lancaster at Arthur State Bank, Union, S.C. 29379.
