SANFORD, June 19 - Ben H. Benfield, 73, died today at home of a heart attack. he lived on Route 5, Sanford. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Haywood Presbyterian Church. The Rev. M. J. Murray and the Rev. R. B. Rock will officiate. Burial will be in the Haywood Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Thomas; one son, Harry Benfield of Washington; four sisters, Mrs. N. B. Taylor of Morrisville, Mrs. W. W. Owen of Durham, Mrs. J. W. Radcliff of Methune, Mass., and Mrs. E. L. Weaver Jr. of Raleigh; four brothers, H. R. Benfield of Four Oaks, Boyd of Robbins, Floyd of Jacksonville, and Bryan of Raleigh; and two grandchildren.
