Waynoka, Oklahoma
Elva Sampson, daughter of Alfred Alexander and Annie Emeline (Simmons) Davidson, was born on August 9, 1916 northwest of Freedom and passed away on January 22, 2002 at Share Convalescent Center in Alva at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 13 days. On November 10, 1937, she was united in marriage to Herman Sampson in Woodward. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 1, 1972; her sons, Tracy Ryan Sampson on November 24, 1962 and Lake Alan Sampson on August 29, 1975; her brothers, George Isaac Davidson, John Henry Davidson, Jimmie Davidson, Elmer Francis Davidson, Joseph Daniel Davidson, and Alfred Alexander Davidson, Jr.; and her sisters, Grace Lillian Beagley, Lucy Luella Carver, Annie Janetta Hodgson, Mollie Ellen Neukirch, and Ora Maud Sampson. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held last Saturday at Waynoka First Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Sims and Rev. Charles Newton officiating. Interment was in Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
