Mrs. Etta Bedwell was born on the fourteenth day of January, 1860, at Greenbush, Warren county and completed the journey of life at her late home in Spring Hill on the 30th day of June, 1928, at the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 16 days. Thus the sites of the beginning and the ending of this one's life were but a few steps apart.

It was in the year 1904 that she made the good confession of her faith in God and the Christian church, and has since taken a great interest in the work of the church. Until her illness about one year ago she was always on hand to do whatever she could both in the church and among her friends and neighbors. Her chief interest in life was her home, and the husband and children unite in praising her memory for the tireless service she gave to them.

Those of the immediate family who remain to mourn her loss are her husband, G.W. Bedwell, to whom she was united in marriage on the 15th day of July, 1879; and three children: Harry of Valley Junction; Ned of Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Nora Keller of Des Moines.

There are also remaining two brothers and two sisters. The brothers are C.C. Cherry, Norwalk, and Arthur Cherry, Corydon. The sisters are Mrs. Roxey Pilmer of Des Moines, and Mrs. Roda Ball, of Peoria, Illinois.

Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in Spring Hill with interment at the Webb cemetery, the pastor of the church, A. A. Burr, officiating.

All of the children and the brothers and sisters, and a number of grandchildren were present for the service, and a large number of friends and neighbors assembled to pay a last tribute of respect for the dead.
