Obituary read: "Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Seeger Memorial High for Maurice E. Beckett, 46, of Williamsport Route 1. He was killed yesterday when his pickup truck crashed off U.S. Route 41 two miles north of Carbondale.

The Rev. Jerry Burt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rossville, Illinois cemetery. Military graveside rites will be by American Legion Post 259. The body is at the Crowmer & Siddens Funeral Home in Williamsport. Friends will be received after 5 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the school an hour before services.

Born September 7, 1922, in Rossville, Illinois, he was the son of Maurice K. and Prudence Watson Beckett. He was married September 11, 1951, at Evansville to Marjorie Pribble, who survives.

Mr. Beckett had been a farmer and had resided in the Judyville community in Warren County most of his life. He was a veteran of services in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 259 and had served four years on the Warren Central Consolidated School Board.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kirstin at home; two sons, Glen and Carl, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Ebrnwald of Williamsport; and two brothers, Dale of Boswell and Capt. John Beckett."
