Vida Lou Thompson Allen age 77 of Winfield, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Oneida. Vida enjoyed all her grandkids and loved watching them basketball and football. She loved playing bingo and going to the Senior Citizens Center to see her friends, enjoyed traveling, clogging and bluegrass music. Born in Scott County, Tennessee on November 30, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Odie and Pearl Slaven Thompson. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Neal; first husband, Ray Rose; second husband, Don Neal. Vida is survived by her husband Charlie Allen; children Kathy Rose of Oneida, Michelle Conlon and husband Tim of Atlanta, GA, Mark Rose, Michael Neal both of Oneida, Charlene Terry and husband Bruce of Helenwood, Pauline Krahn and husband Daryl, Regina Allen all of Oneida and Rick Allen and wife Vicky of Helenwood; six grandchildren, Kasie Sexton, Nicole Thompson, Lisa Gilbert, Hillary Marcum, Kesse Cross and Marka Rose all of Oneida; twenty-one great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and eighteen step-great-grandchildren; special cousin, Peggy Lane of Dayton, Ohio; special friends, Sue Lamb, Kathy Conlon, Bobbie Bell, Virginia Bilbrey, and Celia Jo Thomas all of Oneida. Friends may visit with the Allen family on Tuesday August 6, 2013, from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Davis officiating. Music will be provided by The Chitwood Family, The Allen Family and Dallas West. Graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday August 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Marcum Cemetery in Oneida. Serving as pallbearers Rick Allen, Vance Gilbert, Stacy Sexton, Cody Caldwell, Tim Conlon and Philip Marcum. Honorary pallbearers: Chance Gilbert, Danny Butler and Dusty Thompson.
