James was my 2nd Great-Granduncle.

He was the son of John Wesley Bolling BRASHEARS (1812-1867) and Drucilla R. WILSON Brashears (1908-1859).

He was married twice. His first wife was Sarah Jane WOOLRIDGE. They had three children together:

Hugh Frank Brashears
Houston Brashears (1855-1937)
Hulon Brashears (1858-1941)

His second wife was Sarah Taylor Coe who he married on December 3, 1863, in Russell Co., KY.

They had seven children together:

Cornelius Beshears (1865)
Phaylas "Thalous" Beshears (1868-1928)
Emily Beshears McGahan (1871-1958)
Mollie Beshears Ard (1873)
Sallie Beshears (1877)
Rozanna Beshears (1866)
Ella Beshears (1873)

James did not follow his family when they moved to Texas but stayed in Kentucky. He changed the spelling of his last name sometime after that period.
