William was my 3rd Great-Granduncle.

He was the son of John Wesley Bolling Brashears and Drucilla R. Wilson.

His first marriage was to Savannah "Hannah" BEARDEN before 1861 in Parker Co., TX. She died in Galveston, TX of tuberculosis in 1865 .

He was then married to Hannah's sister Ethel Melissa Bearden c. 1861 in Parker Co., TX. She died in 1882.

William & Melissa's children were:

George W.
Infant daughter
Drusilla Jane
Joseph A. Brashears (1870)
Samuel R.

After Melissa's death he was married Rosaline T. Stephens c. 1885 in TX. She died in 1911.

His last marriage was to Laney Ann MCGOUGH on June 9th, 1912 in Parker Co., TX. She died in 1933 of pneumonia.

William was a Baptist preacher and was married three or four times. He and his last wife gave a home to four girls who needed homes. Dora Smith Oliver, Rosa MCommis, Effie Baccus who married Charlie Warden and Josie Canady.

He was a Confederate in the Civil War, serving with the 11th Battalion 21st/Regiment Texas Infantry.
