Obituary from the Douglas County Herald: "February 14, 1907 - Tabitha Pettit died last Thursday evening at the home of her son, D.C. Pettit, near Arno, of a second stroke of paralysis. The first stroke about three years ago, and it was a very severe one. The second stroke came upon her about three days before her death and she passed away almost unconscious. Her remains were laid to rest in the Walnut Grove cemetery. She had been a resident of this county for a number of years, and she will be greatly missed."

Several have looked and find no headstone to mark this burial. Walnut Grove Cemetery Read dated November 12, 1999, states: "Location Unknown - Pettit, Tabitha - Died Feb. 7, 1907 (Do Co Herald Obit)
