Theodore W. Schessler
Theodore W. "Ted" Schessler was known for the benefit shows he held for nursing homes and schools. He loved fishing, magic, oil painting and sculpting.
Mr. Schessler, 77, of 3 Jackie Lane, died Wednesday afternoon in St. Vincent Hospital.
The son of Henry and Elizabeth Schessler Sr., he was born in Reese, Mich. Hew as educated in Park City, Mont. He married Ella Mae Koenig in 1926 in Park City. He farmed with his father until 1929, when he moved to Laurel where he owned and operated Ted's Drive-in Grocery. He sold the grocery store in 1946 and became a real estate broker, working in Laurel and Billings. They moved to Billings in 1959 and retired in 1972.
He was a member of the Magicians Club and Coin Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James of 4724 Stone St.; a daughter, Mrs. Swede (Jacqueline) Peterson of 5004 Cheyenne Trail; a brother, Herman of Laurel; a sister, Elizabeth Zoppelli of Palm Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary with burial in Park City Cemetery.
