Mrs. Schessler Passes Friday
Mother In Well Known Family of Laurel-Park City Area Lived Here Since 1930
Rev. A. W. Seibert officiated at final rites Monday afternoon for Mrs. Elizabeth B. Schessler, wife of Henry Schessler, Sr., who died Friday at her home in Laurel after a long illness.
Donald Schessler, grandson of the deceased, sang "The Lord's Prayer." "Abide With Me." Was sung by the Lutheran women's choir, with Miss Betty Estrich, organist.
Casketbearers were Walter Benner, Thomas Schessler, Jacob Benner, Jr., John Benner, James Schessler, and Robert Schessler, all grandsons of the deceased. Burial was in the Park City cemetery, with Settergren Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schessler was born in Russia, July 22, 1873. Her parents were Mrs. And Mrs. Alfred Benner. She was married in Russia on Feb. 17, 1895, and the couple came to the United States, living in Cincinnati, Ohio and Michigan before coming to Park City where they settled on a farm. They moved to Laurel in 1930 and have resided here since.
Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran church of which Mrs. Schessler was a member.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Schessler is survived by three sons, Henry, Jr., Ted and Herman, all of Laurel; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Benner of Park City and Miss Elizabeth Schessler of Laurel; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Moland of Missoula and Mrs. John Gies of Lincoln, Neb., 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Her parents were: Helfrich Benner and Katharina Margaretha Windecker - both were born and died in Walter, Saratov, Volga, Russia
She had three sisters who immigrated to the US:
Katherina Margaretha Benner Brown (Braun) (Sep 8, 1869-June 3, 1936) died in Saginaw Michigan. Married to Johann Braun in 1888 in Walter, Saratov, Volga, Russia
Katherine Elisabeth Benner Gies (June 29, 1889-April 25, 1970), died in Lincoln, Nebraska. Married John Gies in in Walter, Saratov, Volga, Russia
Anna Maria (Mary) Benner Mohland (Dec 15, 1893-Jun 14, 1973), did in Missoula, MT. Married John Mohland in Park City, Stillwater Co., MT
