Died last Thursday at home in Helmsburg, Ind., aged 91. He had been a resident of Helmsburg for the past 5 or 6 years. He was born in Hamblen Twp. & lived there his entire life. He married twice, the first time many years ago. His second marriage was to Mrs. Snyder, widow of John Snyder. Survived by his wife and children: Mrs. Joseph Wyman, Jr. of Jackson Twp., Mrs. Ezekial Ford of Hamblen Twp., Mrs. Alma Long of Muncie, Josh Admire of Indianapolis, Emma of Muncie, Thomas of Aurora, Ohio, and Polk of Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of 40 years of the Bean Blossom Masonic Order. Burial was in Sprunica Cemetery.

The son of Jesse and Nancy (Leamon) Admire, he married first in Brown Co., Indiana on Jan. 29, 1854 to Elizabeth Dean born 1 Oct 1836, died 23 Nov 1907 aged 71 yrs 1 mo. 23 days. Bur. Church of Christ Cemetery, Spearsville, Hamblen Twp. The stone has the name of James Admire on it, but he is not buried there by his first wife.
He married 2nd after 1907 to Frances (Ellis) Dallas-Snyder, widow of Alex Dallas and John Snyder.

On 25 May 2017 a Civil War headstone was placed in the Sprunica Cemetery as a Memorial to James Admire. PVT James Admire served in Co D, 31st Ind Inf from 13 October 1864 to 17 October 1865.
