Alan Edgar Whitfield

Funeral services for Alan Edgar Whitfield, 54, who died of a heart attack last Thursday while working at the Bull Shoals dam, were held Sunday at the Assembly of God Church at Galatia, with the Rev. Walter Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Galatia cemetery with the Roller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Whitfield was born in Baxter county April 12, 1897, and spent his entire life here. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a veteran of World War One.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Whitfield of Old Joe; four sons, Edward, Levi and Dean of Old Joe, and Ray of Laramie, Wyoming; seven daughters, Mrs. Betty Neel of Laramie; Mrs. Oneida Stevens of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Misses Helen, Wilma, Bobby, Patsy and Norma Lea of the home; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Whitfield of Norfork; and three sisters, Misses Maggie and Ollie Whitfield of Norfork and Mrs. Rose Parnell of Norfork.
