Bobbie Jean Whitfield Sanders, daughter of the late Allen Whitfield and Hattie Adams Whitfield, was born August 28, 1939 in Old Joe, Arkansas. She departed this life December 25, 2018 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to Delmar Sanders May 25, 1957 and together they raised two children. Bobbie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. For many years, she worked at the Calico Rock School Cafeteria and later took a job at Calico Rock City Hall. After retiring from city hall, she went back to the Calico Rock School where she worked as the librarian. She was of the Assembly of God faith and a member of Galatia Assembly of God Church.
Bobbie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Randy and Debbie Sanders of Calico Rock; one daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Rick Fountain of Calico Rock; two brothers: Levi Whitfield of Saratoga, Wyoming and Dean Whitfield of Camden, Missouri; three sisters: Wilma Huff of Norfork, Helen Hathaway of Indiana and Norma Speak of Missouri; six grandchildren: Bryan Fountain, Matthew Sanders, Corey Sanders, Brayden Fountain, Brittany Fountain-Binnie; six great grandchildren: Barrett Fountain, Briley Sanders, Allison Sanders, Ashlynn Sanders, Kasen Fountain, Kaisley Binnie and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Roe Whitfield and Jack Whitfield; three sisters: Betty Scott, Patsy Reeves and Oneida Stevens and one infant sister.
Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, December 29 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Monty Neal officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
