Funeral services were held Wednesday at Eaton Rapids for the late Mrs. Georgianna Marshall, formerly a resident of Aurelius and Mason, but for the past 3 years a resident of Eaton Rapids.

Mrs. Marshall was the widow of the late John Marshall and is survived by 2 sons, Benjamin A. of Aurelius, and John J.of Wyoming. Her death occurred at the home of Mrs. Maud Holmes on Sunday, January 24.

Georgianna Elizabeth Seelye was born February 18 at Gainsville, Lenawee County, New York. She was the only daughter of George and Elizabeth Seelye. She came to Michigan and 1849 and on October 1, 1868 was united in marriage to John Marshall of Aurelius Center, where for many years they occupied a prominent part in community and church affairs.

To this union were born 4 children, Louis S., who died June 28, 1928; John J. of Sheridan, Wyoming, Benjamin A. of Aurelius, and Hazel A. Davison whose death occurred at Union City May 1, 1908. Besides the 2 sons mentioned, she is survived by a brother, Almon Whitney of Jackson, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In early life she united with the Aurelius Baptist Church on Dec. 21, 1877, of which she has remained a consistent and active supporter.

The body was laid to rest beside that of her husband who died Dec. 26, 1906.

The 1910 census shows Georgianna Marshall (father born in New York, mother born in England), as living with Clarence Davison, her son-in-law, caring for her 2 year old twin grandchildren, Gerald and Irene, (whose mother was Hazel). Ethel Buchanan was living with them as a servant.

Georgianna was president of the Greenwood Cemetery Association, when it was first formed.
