Ogdensburg Journal - Monday Sept 30, 1963:
Archie D. Ross, 70, of 513 State St, who suffered a heart attack at his home early Sunday evening, (Sept 29, 1963) was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. on arrival at Hepburn Hospital, where he was taken in the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad ambulance. He had suffered from a heart ailment for about five years and had been in failing health the past six months.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Lalonde-Briggs Funeral Home and a half hour later at Notre Dame Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Ross are his wife Edith, three sons, Harold, David and Donald Ross, all of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Dolores) Planty, this city; three sisters, Mrs. Jean McDonald, Watertown, Mrs. Angus (Pearl) McDonald, Applehill, Ont., and Mrs. Charles (Celia) Driscoll, Green Valley, Ontario, and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Ross was born March 31, 1893 at Ironwood Michigan, the son of Daniel H. and Elizabeth McDonald Ross. In 1924, at Ottawa, he married Edith mae Reanud of St. Raphael's Ont. Mr. Ross was the proprietor of an electrical appliance store in Newark, NJ from 1915 until he moved to Ogdensburg in 1935, where he continued the business for a few years. For five years, until he retired a few years ago, he was a driller and dynamiter for McConville Inc.

He was a member of Notre Dame Church.
