Eben Hamilton4 Skolfield (Ebenezer Thomas2,
Thomas1) was born 20 December 1831 in Weld, Maine; married
Eli/a Ann Storer, daughter of Henry Storer and Arvilla Kittredge, on 29 April 1869 in Weld, Maine. He died 14 May 1912 in Weld, Maine was buried in Robertson Cemetery. His tombstone records that he was born 22 December 1831.
Some of the family changed the spelling of the name at this point Eben's great grandson, Peter Lee Schofield (son of writes: "According to research of properly deeds accomplished on May 18, 1986 by Stanley Aquilla Skolfield (son or Thomas Aquilla and his dear wife Mabel) Eben changed his spelling of the family name from
'Skolfield' to 'Schofield' in about the year 1885. Apparently some of Eben's offspring adopted the revised spelling, and others didn't. By the lale 1940s all members of this branch of the family had changed back to the 'Skol' spelling except Stanley's two eldest children, Peter and Paul " Thomas, son of Stanley Aquilla Schofield believes that Eben began using (he Schofield spelling because of the Civil War General Sohoheld. Eben Hamilton Skolfield 1831-1912 Stanton Storer Skolfield writes in Ebenezer Skolfield & Descendants, in 1953, that:
He was an industrious farmer on the farm where he was born and raised, active, full of life, indefatigable in labor, honorable in his dealings, prompt and accurate in his executive ability. A tireless worker on his farm, always busy from early morning to late at night. A man of commanding personality, six feet two inches in height, broad shouldered and muscular. His chief diversion was in his violin upon which he was an accomplished player. His services in this respect were in demand for the country house dances, being always ready to add to the joy and happiness of his neighbors and friends. He took great pride in having many fine horses and cattle on his
farm. A man with ways positive, direct and unmistakable, he had the capacity to stamp his personality upon whomever he came in contact. Eliza Ann Storer was born 19 November 1839 in Weld, Maine; died 14 March 1933 on Peaks
Island, Maine, and was buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton, Maine. Her obituary says she was buried
in Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, Maine.

i. Stanton Storers Skolfield, twin of Fessenden, was born 13 February 1870; married Mary Eleanor White.

ii. Fessenden Stanwood Skolfield, twin to Stanton, was born 13 February 1870; married Hattic Belle Horn.

iii. Henry Hamilton Skolfield was born 3 February 1872 in Weld, Maine; married Linna Ethel Brown.

iv. Mary Octavia Skolfield was born 15 September 1873 in Weld, Maine; married, first, Charles Parker Johnson, son of Ebenezer Swift Johnson and Georgia A. Parsons, on
5 December 1898 in Farmington, Maine; married, second, LeRoy Granville Fernald, son of John Drummond Fernald and Emmaline (Morton) Fairbanks, on 29 June 1904 in
Portland, Maine. He was born 19 April 1872 in Wilton, Maine, and died 14 November 1941 in that town. He listed Waterford, Maine, as his birthplace on the marriage license. She died 18 May 1957 in Farmington, Maine, and they are both buried in Lakevicw Cemetery, Wilton, Maine.

v. Luella Lavinia Skolfield was born ] 16 March 1876 in Weld, Maine; married John Henry Whitten.

vi. Thomas Aquilla Skolfield was born 22 February 1878; married Mabel Leona Libby.

vii. Qucenie Marion Skolfield was born 18 May 1879 in Weld, Maine; married Frank P. Savage on 12 December 1950 in Reno, Nevada. There is no record of this marriage in the
Washoe County Recorder's office. She had been a milliner and worked in Oren Hooper's store in Portland, Maine, and for many years in the drapery department of W. T. Kilbourne
Co., retiring in 1945. She died 17 August 1951 in Paradise, California, and was buried in
Paradise Cemetery, Paradise.

viii. Annie Laura Skolfield was born 23 September 1881 in Weld, Maine. She attended schools at Weld and Farmington, Maine. She joined the D.A.R. as a descendant of Benjamin
Dowse and Ebenezer Newman, her mother's ancestors. Her chief occupation was the care and attention she gave to her aged mother of whom she was very solicitous. She was a
resident of Wilton at the time of her death in a hospital in Augusta, according to the Maine Vital Records office. She died 3 August 1945 and was buried in Lakeview Cemetery,
Wilton, Maine.
