She attended high school in Geneva, Nebraska, living with her grandparents during the school year. She graduated in 1936.
January 5, 1938, in Clay Center, Nebraska, Lois married Charles Myrl Seefeld. To this union was born one daughter and one son. They farmed for a number of years near Clay Center and Greenwood, Nebraska. When they retired from farming, they moved to Waverly, Nebraska, where they both worked outside the home. They retired from employment in 1982. Lois and Charles then moved to Nelson, Nebraska.
Lois was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church in Greenwood, Nebraska, later transferring her membership to Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska. She was a member of Eastern Star # 303 in Greenwood where she served as Worthy Matron, later transferring her membership to Nelson #27. In her younger years, Lois was active in various church circles and extension clubs. She enjoyed fishing and camping and was an avid reader. Lois enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was proud to be a great great aunt.
Preceding her in death were her husband Charles on November 20, 1989; her parents; one son, Roger LeRoy; two brothers, Maurice Ernest and Kenneth Wilbur Clements and four sisters, Dorothy Evelyn Moore, Vera Myrtle Seefeld, Betty Lou Buethe and Millie Clements an infant sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Alta Showen and her husband Albert of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandsons, Charles Hatzenbuehler and his wife Janice of Superior, Nebraska, Jeffrey Hatzenbuehler and his wife Chris of Odell, Nebraska, and Michael Hatzenbuehler of Lincoln, Nebraska; two granddaughters, Linda Stierwalt and Alicea Walbridge, both of Lincoln, Nebraska; three step grandsons, Dib Showen and his wife Judy of Lincoln, Nebraska, David Showen and his wife Jody of Parker, Colorado, and Danny Showen and his wife Becky of rural Raymond, Nebraska; 8 great-granddaughters, three great grandsons; six step great grandsons, one step great granddaughter, one step great great granddaughter; brother, Lyle Clements and his wife Iola of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister-in-law, Mary Clements of White Salmon, Washington; brother-in-law, Homer Seefeld of Nelson, Nebraska; special niece, Karen Sole and her husband Allan of Nelson, Nebraska; former son-in-law Roger Hatzenbuehler and his wife Ginger of Lincoln, Nebraska; other brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at 2 p.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by great niece, Deonna Edgar, singing "Beyond The Sunset" and "In The Garden" and a congregational hymn of "How Great Thou Art" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Chuck Hatzenbuehler, Jeff Hatzenbuehler, Larry Seefeld, Jeff Stone, Gregg Roe and Brad Edgar. Burial was in the Davenport City Cemetery, Davenport, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska, was in charge of arrangements.
