Clarence Ernest Clements, son of George and Acsah
Clements, was born November 1, 1882, in Champaign
County, Ill. He passed away at his home in Davenport,
Nebr., July 10, 1962, at the age of 79 years, 8 months,
9 days.

At an early age he moved with his parents to Hoxie,
Kans. During this time he united with the Methodist
Church and remained a member until death.

In 1905 the family moved to a farm near Ong, Nebr.

On August 12, 1908, he was united in marriage with Eva
Hill. To this union were born seven children, two of whom
preceded him in death, Dorothy Moore in 1931 and Maurice
in 1944 while serving his country in France. His parents
and two sisters also preceded him in death.

He retired in 1947 after 32 years of service with the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; two sons, Kenneth, of
White Salmon, Wash., and Lyle of Salina, Kans.; three
daughters, Vera Seefeld, of Oak, Lois Seefeld of
Greenwood, and Betty Buethe of Bruning; three sons-in-law
and two daughters-in-law; 14 grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles, of Geneva; and other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church July
14 at 10 a.m. Interment was made in the Davenport
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cecil Kerschner Sr., Cecil Kerschner Jr., B. J. Culbertson, H. B. Johnson,
Frank Johnson and Ernie Doll.

The relatives from out-of-town attending the service
were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hamilton, Lincoln; Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Hamilton, Tom Hamilton, and Charles Clements, Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Vaunden and Mrs. Will
Herrick, Ong; Mrs. Richard Gustafson, Funk; Mr. and Mrs.
James Jardon, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shirley and Ann,
Hastings; Mrs, J. D. Johnson, Salina, Kans.; Mrs. George
McKerna, Solomon, Kans.
