Ted worked at International Harvestor in East Moline for 25 years, living in Rock Island, Illinois. They moved back to McDonough County in 1973.
Ted is survived by his wife, Nellie, and two daughters: Lillian Acord of Springdale, Arkansas, and Betty (Mrs. Ralph) Agre of Macomb, Illinois, also four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, a brother, James R. Stoneking of Macomb, two sisters: Bessie Butkiewicz and Jessie Stoneking, both of Macomb. He was preceeded in death by his parents, three brothers: Cecil, Monroe, and Jacob, and two sisters: Mary Anderson, and Beulah Rittenhouse.
His memorial service was held at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb, and presided over by Pastor Don Oftedahl of Victory Baptist Church. Pastor Oftedahl gave testimony of Ted's being turned off by the hypocrites in the churches, but that over the last year of his life, he changed his notion toward the Lord, and gave testimony to Nellie that he had trusted Jesus as his Savior just before his death. Nellie was a faithful member of Victory Baptist, and she followed Ted in death on January 2, 1990. She is also buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
