Daughter of James "Frank" Catchings and Minnie Lou Smith Catchings. Sister to: Virgil, Buck, Addie, Strubert, Vera, James Frank Jr., and Willie.

SMITH FUNERAL HELD HERE
Funeral services were held Saturday at Newby Funeral Home for Allie Mae Smith, 88, of Bastrop who died April 9 in Bastrop.
Reverend Gary Turner, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, officiated. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery at Smithville.
Mrs. Smith was born in Red Rock Oct. 25, 1892 to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Catchings and grew up on a farm. She moved to Bastrop about 1943 and was a housewife. Her husband died in 1956. She is survived by four sons, Nick Smith and Cohen D. Smith of Bastrop, Leon Smith of West Point, and John W. Smith of Dallas; three daughters, Edith Miller of Bastrop, Doris S. Ricketson of Cornelia, Ga. and Linda Lee Acevedo of Santa Clara, Calif; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
